Hi, my name is Kathy Hegstad, public affairs specialist in State Office in Huron, South Dakota. I am thrilled to be back working for NRCS and promoting conservation! I have nine years with NRCS, first as a soil conservation technician (SCT), 1989-1994, Bowman, North Dakota and public affairs specialist, 2005-2009, State Office in Bismarck, ND. This past summer I had the opportunity to work as a Pathways soil conservationist intern in beautiful Park County Montana, adjacent to Yellowstone National Park! I was a non-traditional pathways student at the young age of 54!Less

I graduated from North Dakota State University with a Master's in Natural Resource Management in December 2018, at the younger age of 55! I am excited to fill the remaining two-year NP Rep term and look forward to meeting all WiN members!Less
