I am a native of Southern Minnesota and grew up on a small family farm raising hogs, corn and soybeans. I began my NRCS career as a summer intern with in 2001, while majoring in Conservation at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Following graduation, I officially joined the NRCS as a Soil Conservation Technician in my home county in Austin, Minnesota. In my 17 years with the agency, I have been a Soil Conservation Technician, Soil Conservationist and Farm Bill Specialist in Minnesota, the Assistant State Conservationist – Programs in Maryland and am currently the Deputy State Conservationist for NRCS in Champaign, Illinois.
