Heather Hinson,
Treasurer of Membership
Heather Hinson
I have been working for NRCS for almost 20 years. I started my career with NRCS as a Soil Conservationist in Henderson, Texas working with forestry landowners in east Texas. After one year, I was transferred to the Franklin FO to work with cropland producers in central Texas. My next career move with NRCS was to the Corpus Christi Area Office as a Transfer Technology Specialists. I provided training to field and area staff on various conservation computer programs such as Toolkit, ProTracts, and PRS. My experience in the AO led me to apply and was selected for the Toolkit Coordinator position in West Virginia. I served the state of West Virginia for 11 years. During that time, I also served on many details to national teams for ProTracts and Toolkit. My experiences gained during my details gave me the knowledge to apply and be selected for a position on the Conservation Planning and Technical Assistance Division staff located in Fort Worth, Texas. My husband and I have been married for almost 15 years. We have one 12-year-old son and an 13-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Both keep us on our toes and provide lots of love and laughter in our household.
I have enjoyed serving WiN as the Treasurer of Membership for the past three years and look forward to seeing it continue grow in membership and influence within NRCS and FPAC.
