Loren Muldowney was raised in western New York, spending summers on her grandparents’ Ohio farm where she got to ride a 1000 pound Poland China hog. She was interested in everything as long as it
was outdoors or at least involved horses. Her high school guidance counselor learned that Loren would pursue a career that did not involve getting dressed up for work.
Lacking other ideas (and to escape her parents) Loren went to college and eventually earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. In graduate school she wanted to study sustainable agriculture but that didn’t exist yet so she got a Masters degree in Soils & Water.
Her 30 year employment history includes clinical medical research, tool design and drafting, environmental scientist, soil testing laboratory, consulting soil scientist, NRCS water quality specialist and District Conservationist. During this time she produced 2 offspring who somehow made it to adulthood despite their mother; following this she finds everything easy by comparison.
